About Carla Morris
I am an editorial professional with over a decade of experience in academic and government publishing. I hold degrees in Linguistics from UC Berkeley and Gallaudet University, with a specialization in signed languages. I am a native speaker of American English and fluent in American Sign Language. I am a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC credly badge), scoring “above standard” in the subject areas of: Disabilities, Challenges, and Assistive Technologies; and Accessibility and Universal Design. I hold additional certifications in editing from the Poynter Institute and localization from UWashington. Complimentary to my passion for linguistics, publishing, and accessibility, I actively pursue continuing education in the related fields of localization, web design, and copyright law.
