Joining the Conference
Where do I go to watch?
The conference is held via Zoom webinars. You can watch via Zoom in your browser, a Zoom desktop client or a Zoom mobile app.
There are four (4) different Zoom webinars for the event (different webinars will be active one at a time over 24 hours). Before the event starts, you will receive emails from Zoom with your personal links to join each of the four webinars. Every person will receive unique joining links, so please do not share these links with anyone.
Will people be able to see or hear me in Zoom?
No. WP Accessibility Day will be using Zoom webinars, not Zoom meetings. All attendee cameras and microphones will be turned off for the duration of the event.
When do the different webinars start/when do I know to switch?
There are four (4) different Zoom webinars for the event, starting at these times:
- 14:45 UTC – 20:50 UTC
- 21:00 UTC – 2:50 UTC
- 3:00 UTC – 8:50 UTC
- 9:00 UTC – 15:00 UTC
Each session will be clearly labeled in numerical order. When it is time to switch webinars, the Emcee at the time will notify you verbally of the switch before the current session ends. You can then go to your email to find the link to join the next session.
How do I ask questions in Zoom?
If you have a question, you’ll need to place it in the Zoom Q&A module or Zoom chat as you will not be able to speak or unmute during the webinar. Note: we will not be using the hand raise feature for attendees.
How can I get additional information about attending via Zoom?
Here are some helpful documents about attending Zoom webinars:
- Joining and participating in Zoom Webinars
- How to view captions in Zoom
- How to view Sign Language Interpretation in Zoom
- How to change your Zoom screen reader alerts
- How to send emoji reactions in Zoom Webinars
How do I get technical help?
If you haven’t already, join the WordPress Accessibility Day Slack. This is a great place to connect with other attendees, speakers, and sponsors leading up to, during, and after the event. Organizers and volunteers will be watching Slack on the day of the event, so if you have trouble accessing the live stream, chat, or transcript, this is the best place to tag us.
Accessing Swag and Attendee Information on the Website
How do I activate my account?
You should have received an email from the website when you registered with a link to click to activate your account. You may need to check your spam folder. Look for an email with the subject line “[WordPress Accessibility Day 2024] Activate.”
If you cannot find the email, this may be because there was a typo in your email address. Tag an organizer on WP Accessibility Day Slack, and we can activate your account for you.
How do I reset my password?
You can reset your password here.
I logged in, but I’m still not able to access sponsor swag and giveaways.
Try clearing your cache. We have set up rules to block caching of sponsors’ pages, but some browsers have more aggressive caching than others. Clearing your cache after logging in should resolve this. Note: not all swag and giveaways will be available until the week of the event.
How do I update my attendee profile?
We use Gravatar to display attendee photos. If you would like your photo to show up instead of a filler image, you need to set up a Gravatar with the same email address you used to create your account.
If you need to update other information on your profile, you can log in and edit your attendee information here.

You can give us feedback on the feedback page. If you have a concern related to the code of conduct, please use our code of conduct reporting form for a more immediate response.
Will videos be available after the livestream?
Videos will be publicly available after the conference! The final videos will take 3-4 weeks to finish editing and captioning. We’ll email you when the final videos are published on this website with captions and transcripts.
